With so much speed and stealth packed into one room, its hard to tell where one airplane ends and the other begins. Can you figure out how many Blackbirds are stacked in this storage hangar?
Good luck and leave your guess in the comments. Here’s a hint, if your answer is any higher than zero you’re wrong.

Zero. I see lots of A12s/M21s, but no SR71s.

I see a whole bunch of A-12s.

Except the A-12 wasn't painted, IIRC. They kept it raw titanium.

I’m going with 8, unless it’s 7 SRs and 1 raw titanium A-12.

At first they were unpainted, but by the end all A-12's got the black paint job.
(SR-71 is on the Left, A-12 on the right)

I wondered if this was going to be a “HA! you’re all wrong! they’re A-12s!!!” type trick.

I never noticed the resemblance until now. Good call.

based on google-fu, tail number, shape, cockpit size, what have yous, I’ll throw my hat in the “it’s an A-12" ring with a few others.

I was just going to say, it might be a trick question and there are a bunch of Oxcarts in there!

AR-12? SR-71? This thread needs more SR20.

There are nine of these, tho.
